Guest: Clean and comfortable good food

Our room had nowhere to hang clothes, but was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very good, and the staff friendly

Guest: Highly recommendable!

Lovely atmosphere and everything was nice and clean from the room, bathroom and other areas. We had friendly staff assisting us and they made sure our good breakfast was on time.

Guest: Wonderlik

Wonderlike, vriendelike, Afrikaanse mense. Heerlik daar oorgebly.

After an exhausting day through Baviaanskloof, the comfort of the rooms and the facilities made for a uniquely refreshing experience. The chef cooks the best steak you can think of and the chicken cordon bleu was equally top quality. Well done.

We visited this hotel for a meal many years ago and thought we would try it again as we were in the area, heard it was under new management, and we were needing a lunch. We were not particularly impressed with the entrance, but the dining room was clean and airy and the background music was sonorous and pleasant - the walls looked rather bare - some tasteful pictures would have added colour and warmth to the room. We were immediately attended to and made aware of the specials for the day which were very reasonably priced - Chicken snitchel, chips and veg for only R45. All four of our party had this. (The alternative was a pizza for R60). It was served quickly - the chips were good - though I would have prefered them a little crisper. The portions were a good size - the chicken was excellent as was the sauce and the vegetables. I asked for a glass of red wine and was served a 250ml bottle of a good wine for R30. We were tempted by the 'deep fried ice cream' sweet and had two to share between the four of us - this was a real treat, served with a caramel sauce - and at R30 per couple was excellent value for money. We look forward to going again!

Wonderful stay, highly recommended. Old world charm accomodation and brilliant food and prices. The hotel has been refurbished while keeping the old style feel about it. Even the original yellowood floors are still there. We will be back.

After driving from Durban to Patensie we arrived after dark to a very welcome stay at Ripple Hill. Very comfortable accommodation, great atmosphere in the pub and a delicious meal in the dining room. Many thanks to all at Ripple Hill - we will certainly be back when next we are in the area.

Room Tip: A good start to a drive through Baviaanskloof

I stayed at Ripple Hill a few years ago and had lunch here with friends. The hotel has been wonderfully restored and the restaurant has really good food and always offers specials. For those driving or biking through the Baviaanskloof the Ripple Hill is always a good stop for a cold one! Groete van die Baviaanskloof John and family from the Baviaanskloof Hartland!

Guest: Fantastic!!!

This is the best value for money. The hotel has oldworld-charm. Wide corridors and beautiful rooms. The food is devine and the owners are so accommodating. My husband used the conference fasilities for the day and they gave me late check-out in the afternoon (it was a 39C day outside and I could stay in a nice airconditioned room!)
I can truly recommend this very special gem! Even the staff are friendly and helpfull!

Guest: Charmingly Restored Hotel

After consideration to our activities in Hankey and Patensie, we opted to stay in the area and "found" the Ripple Hill Hotel. Booking online and a couple of calls to ensure we got space for four was a breeze with the efficient and friendly response by management. We were surprised on entering, from the friendly and warm welcome to the solid wooden floors of the charming hotel. The presentation of the rooms was stunning and it was love at first sight.

We had two en-suite rooms with queen beds (wife and one daughter in one and myself with the other one in the other room) -, they had one room with a 3 beds but that was taken, so we took the two rooms. The lined and towels provided had that spring smell indicating it was freshly washed. The room and bathrooms was clean and spotless. The complimentary tea/coffee was well used and the next day, a further tray was placed on the table in the passage with extra's.

As we basically only slept there, not having any tv's was not an issue - but the children would have loved it especially if it had dstv. On Sunday the place was closed (pub and restaurant) so it was extremely quiet. The free Wi-Fi was a bonus.

My wife needed a hairdryer and it was promptly supplied. In our free time, the kids enjoyed the trampoline at the back of the hotel.

There are several communal toilets and bathrooms throughout the passages and the restaurant area is well decorated. They have a spacious banqueting hall that can be used for seminars and conferences and a well stocked pub.

Guest: Very convenient stay

4 of 5 bubbles

A very convenient stay after a exhausting but beautiful travel in the Baviaanskloof. All you need in one place -a little oasis - the hotel is very neat, well located in Patensie - near local businesses. The hotel is partly renovated - still in process- very clean and crisp. The local bar and restaurant is also part of he hotel - but do not interfere with the peace and quiet of the rooms. The owner is very friendly and welcoming guests. The restaurant serves nice and comfortable food.

Nogmaals baie dankie.  Laat weet ons as julle dalk 'n dans of iets daar reël.  Of as julle dalk Sondagmiddag etes begin bedien of so iets.
